Secrets of Headhunter

Today’s economic news may be gloom and doom but it need not derail your job hunt. You can still win a great job, even in a lousy economy. You will have to get smarter in your job search strategy, though. The tough economy and so many job losses has made searching for a job more difficult than ever. Job search skills that were once effective are no longer useful – the marketplace has changed and so must you. If you are striving for career advancement at your current company and it just does not seem to be happening. You know you have the credentials, and you are hard worker and your skills are not paying off in your current environment, sometimes is better off to take your skills to another company.

If you are on an executive job search, then obviously you have the skills in your field and will make a viable candidate for most companies. One of the most important things you can do is show that you have mastered all the skills that come along with your job requirements. Companies will be looking for executives that have the skills already mastered.

Your mastery of the skills is what makes you so valuable as an executive. There is no training, nor very little learning curve involved. Highlighting your skills on your resume to companies is something that you should have a professional put on your resume. Companies will be looking for executives that can step right into the role and have the skills associated with your job.

Attending seminars, workshops and webinars will greatly help to gain enough knowledge in job search. Its not only the experience and the certificates that you have that will make you get the job that you want, instead its what you can offer to the company, sell yourself, but do not sell qualifications. You need to diversify your job search methods. If you stick only to searching for jobs through online job boards, you’ll be faced with a lot of competition. Try doing a google search on companies within your chosen industry and click on the company websites and check their careers section. They may have an advertisement on their website that does not appear on any job boards. Even if they don’t have any advertised positions on their website, you can check to see if there are any names of executives or hiring managers on their website and email them directly with a polite request for an informational interview to discuss any future job possibilities. The point is that there are many ways to skin a cat so just make sure that you are not sticking to only one method of searching for a job.

If you want to attend seminars to learn on how to search for jobs, try to search for free webinars online.
