Hamilton watches have always offered unique perspectives to time. From the first electric watch made by the brand which revolutionized the watch industry for the modern world, to the long-standing Hollywood presence it has established, crafting special pieces for movies, the American brand has often demonstrated its ability to craft special timepieces that add a special touch to the craft of keeping time. One of these special pieces was for 2001: A Space Odyssey on request by famed director Stanley Kubrick; a futuristic desk clock and wristwatch was made for the movie in a limited edition of one, which won rave reviews from international magazines.

Today, Hamilton has created two new timepieces for the night owls of the city that never sleeps – New York City. The Khaki Twilight is inspired by the novel l Am Legend by renowned science fiction author Richard Matheson, written in 1954 about the world of vampires that inhabit NYC. The dial is split into white and black, symbolizing the beginning and end of twilight – the time between sunset and the onset of full night. The Khaki Twilight has a inbuilt function that counts down the start till the end of twilight, as measured in NYC for three times of the month – the 1 st, 11 th and 21 st.

The seconds hand and dashes that mark out five-day intervals on the dial are in red. An additional UTC Coordinated Universal Timer scale next to the date window to show the atomic time standard. A special crown protector shields the crown from any damage. For rough handling, a rubberized strap is available; otherwise, you can choose a metal bracelet for a more formal look.

The Khaki Sunset, as one might imagine, counts down to sunset all over the world. Six different locations all over the world are marked out, accompanied by precise map coordinates. The timepiece displays the exact time of sunset on the 1 5th day of the month for each of these locations. Like the Twilight, it has a UTC counter, and a choice of black or white dials, depending on whether you prefer day or night.
