“There is a problem with this Windows Installer package” Error

I just meet this error meessage from Windows XP SP2 when I try to uninstall expired Bit Defender Antivirus. It show

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

After that I found a great tool developed from Microsoft with executed command prompt to totally uninstall the software. Is called “Windows Installer CleanUp Utility“, current version is 2.5.0.1.

With the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, you will remove a program’s Windows Installer configuration information.
