Thompson Hotels at Smyth Tribeca

Fans of luxury hotel chain Thompson Hotels can now live permanently in designer luxury at Smyth Tribeca, which has 15 condominium apartments besides 100 hotel rooms. The apartments, known as Smyth Upstairs, are located at the top of the 13-story building, which will also house a cellar bar and a restaurant.

With its forbidding facade accentuated by dark grey mullions and large windows, Smyth Tribeca will make a statement in the Tribeca neighbourhood where it stands looking out onto the Empire State Building. Richardson Sadeki’s interiors feature sandblasted stone strips and Duravit freestanding tubs. Sadeki has also worked on Bliss Spa and The Bathhouse Spa in Las Vegas. Yabu Pushelberg was in charge of the architecture. The hotel-residences will open in winter of 2009.
